The Fair Work Pledge

For Texas legislators, candidates and local officials. We confirm every signature with the signer’s office before it’s published.

I pledge that, if elected or re-elected, I will:

  1. Vote for and support legislation repealing the bans on union-security agreements in Chapter 101 of the Texas Labor Code, so workers and employers are free to negotiate fair-share contracts.
  2. Vote for and support legislation amending Chapter 617 of the Texas Government Code so that school districts and their employees may bargain collectively over wages, hours and working conditions.
  3. Oppose any amendment or bill that would further restrict the right of Texas workers to organize, bargain or be represented.
  4. Meet with teachers and working people from my district about this legislation during the session.

I make this pledge because the people who teach our children and build our state deserve a real voice in the decisions that shape their work.
